Maria,
Jerry and I wanted to thank you and your family for honoring
Melissa at
Friday night's dinner.
The affair was lovely. It was very special for Melissa to have
her family and close friends with her.
We are so grateful for the generous gift the Foundation gave to
her,
but more for the chance to meet you and your family. You are all
an
inspiration to us,
your love for Dean was shown throughout the entire affair. Truly
a
beautiful way to honor him.
Please keep Melissa in your prayers.
Thank you again.

Dear Clarizio Family,
Although this thank you is late in coming, my gratitude is
not. Jessica had a wonderful Christmas, with help and caring
from you. She absolutely loves her DVD player and was so
excited to tell me about it. Thank you so much for making
her holidays brighter! She is doing very well right now and
is a month away from beginning her inpatient chemo. Thank
you for opening your hearts and helping this family.
Sincerely,
Laura Cunus (Child Life Specialist)

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Dean Michael
Clarizio Cancer Foundation for picking me one of the recipients of
their scholarship. Many people were affected by the death of Dean
and while I was not fortunate to have known him, I have experienced
a similar loss with the death of two of my grandparents. I have
learned that Dean was a very passionate person and had an interest
in writing. One day I hope to be able to publish my writing, which
is a shared dream of Dean’s and mine, in his memory and honor. I am
so grateful to have been chosen and I thank you very much.
Thank you,
Jenna Gonzalez

Dear Clarizio Family,
I still do not know how to place into words my gratitude for the
scholarship you awarded me. Seeing my picture in the West Orange
Chronicle prompted me to stop delaying this long overdue thank you
note. The foundation dinner was amazing. To see the enthusiasm of
all the attendees in their support of the cause that you have so
nobly continued in Dean’s name was very moving. However, I was
brought to tears while listening to the speech made by the young
mother who is battling cancer and longing for a cure so that her
daughter never has to suffer from this disease. Since the dinner, my
maternal grandfather has been diagnosed with stage four cancer of
the small intestine; this terrible predator continues to wreak havoc
on my family. It is so wonderful how you were able to make something
so positive come from Dean’s illness, and I am honored that you
selected me as one of last year’s recipients.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Takacs

Dear Dean Michael Clarizio Cancer Foundation,
We want to let everyone know that we truly “Thank You”. Your act of
kindness toward us was a blessing, and we will never forget you
helped us.
We “Thank You” for the check because we were in need, but truly hope
that in the near future we can, in return help the foundation. Our
family will not forget your thoughtfulness and kindness. Again,
“Thank You”.
Sincerely,
Charles & Luevenia Hines and family
Maria,
I would like to thank you and your family for helping Bobby with college. It
is greatly needed by us at this time. You have a wonderful family. I am
looking forward to seeing you and everyone involved with the Dean Michael
Clarizio Cancer Foundation. We went on his web-site and got to know him. He
was a very special person. Thank you again. Please don’t forget to put me on
the foundation mailing list, I want to help.

To The Folks at The Dean Michael Clarizio
Cancer Foundation:
For months now I have tried to compose a letter of thanks for our new
living room furniture. I could never express my true feelings in words.
I am at a true lose of expression. Every time, you think the world is so
cruel and un-kind somebody somewhere shows such un-believable kindness
that it totally bowls you over.
Frank has liver cancer and is fighting a brave fight and we are hopeful
that the end result will be a positive one. He is participating in two
clinical trials that have had some success in other patients. So, with a
little luck and God’s wishes he could recover. The living room furniture
is absolutely lovely and Frank is enjoying it so much. He can’t go very
far without feeling weak and I work so he is really stuck at home. Most
days he is lounging around in the living room. You have made his life so
much easier; he finally has something wonderful to sit on. With some
luck, someday, we can replace this kindness in return.

PS I’m sure my wife and Dean will meet in heaven
